Erotica Advice?

Partner and I are looking for some classy erotica -- something that actually has a plot, takes its time with sexual tension and build up, and follows with scenes that aren't afraid to be explicit and push boundaries.

Our experience is -- great plot and tension, but drops ya there with nothing remotely close to explicit.
OR -- explicit stuff that pushes the boundaries- - but leaves nothing to any kind of build up or plot.

Erotica/porn that has pathetic acting where one second the couple just meets to literally the next second they're going at it ---- makes us laugh more than anything. Definitely not a turn on.

MF, MM, FF -- it's all good.

We're especially interested in couples with other couples.

Any advice or suggestions?

I would check into the Vivid line of movies. They treat pornography as if it were filmmaking. Don't get me wrong, it is still porn with some definitely hot scenes, but it is of a higher quality in terms of something you can actually watch all the way through.
One note though, that disappoints me in Vivid's films, is that they use very typical Barbie-type actresses. They're just not my taste. And it is also very straight.

If you are into reading erotica instead of watching it--each year, Susie Bright edits a collection of what she and other's consider to be the best erotic short stories of the year--it is not hard to find these books--they are readily available at bookstores like Borders and Barnes and Nobel.

What sort of boundaries do you want pushed?

Great online site is the Erotica Readers & Writers Association. Literary erotica (not visual) by some very good writers. Also discussions on what makes a good writer, what makes good erotica, etc. Well worthwhile for the thinking horny person.... :bigrin:

Another good web site for written erotica is Literotica.com (you can even post your own if your so inclined, and they too have a forum where authors can chat and get advice)

We enjoy the written type, but have to agree about the disappointing quality of the video/dvd stuff and it would be nice to have something decent to watch sometimes.

The 'Ann Summers' store of Britain carries porn more palatable and appealing to women; some stuff by Anna Span.
While I've never seen any of it, supposedly it has more plot and emotional appeal. Of course it still has the graphics us visually-oriented-males commonly desire.

I remember reading about a female director back in the 90s (article in Playboy, I think)... who made her erotica films especially for women... with X and XXX cuts of the same film. I can't remember who that was, but I think it was Anna Span.

Check out Kit Ball's 'Viruses are Dreaming'. It's probably intensely hard to find if you live outside of Australia, but there's boundary pushing going on there...
